On Thursday, September 12th, the Screen Alliance of New Jersey (SANJ) hosted a networking event at Emerald Green Trailers and Edge Auto Rental. The event, aimed at supporting New Jersey’s rapidly growing film and television production industry, drew over 100 attendees and provided an incredible opportunity for professionals to connect and collaborate.
The event was attended by a diverse group of individuals, including elected officials, c-suite executives, government representatives, and key industry vendors, who all enjoyed light fare and beverages while discussing the future of the industry. The gathering served as a powerful reminder of the momentum the film and TV sector has gained in New Jersey—and the tremendous opportunities ahead.
Thanks to tax incentives and strategic state support, the industry has seen exponential growth in recent years. New Jersey’s Film & Digital Media Tax Credit Program, which provides generous credits for production companies, has been a major catalyst in attracting both large-scale productions and independent filmmakers to the state. By offering a 30-35% tax credit on qualified expenses, including wages, the program has not only boosted economic development but also solidified New Jersey as a premier destination for production.
This initiative has drawn significant investment into the state, resulting in new job opportunities, a surge in local business activity, and an expanding infrastructure to support film and television projects. SANJ is deeply grateful for the unwavering support of the state government, from local municipalities to the highest levels of leadership, who have been instrumental in fostering this thriving creative ecosystem.
In particular, we would like to acknowledge the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission, especially Janice Kovach, Commissioner and Mayor of Clinton, Jon Crowley, Executive Director, and David W. Schoner, Jr., Associate Director, for their continuous advocacy and support of the industry. Their efforts have been invaluable in making New Jersey an attractive destination for film and television production. We also extend our sincere thanks to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, especially CEO Tim Sullivan, for their role in driving economic development through strategic incentives and support.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the future and remain committed to growing the support of SANJ as the voice of the industry in the state. We’re confident that with continued collaboration between public and private sectors, New Jersey will remain at the forefront of film and television production for years to come.
A special thank you goes out to SANJ Vice President Nick Day of Edge Auto Rental and SANJ Board Member Keith Gordon of Emerald Green Trailers, as well as the entire SANJ Board, for their efforts in making this event such a success. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to SANJ members and everyone who has continued to support the growth of the film and television industry in New Jersey.
As we move forward, SANJ eagerly anticipates building on our strong foundation and expanding our network to elevate the industry even further. Together, we’ll continue pushing New Jersey’s film and TV sector to new heights.
Thank you to all who attended and for your continued support!
